Books!

Decided to check out the children's section at the library today. Whoa,lots of books!So many i felt quite helpless choosing them.They were not really arranged according to certain categories as well so i just randomly picked a few. Picked two big picture books about moon,since that is Caleb's current favourite.
Think i will save up a lot by going to the library from now on.No need to buy,though it feels good to own them!:)
Anyway,had some bad experience at the library.Its the post exam period for some schools and i saw a group of secondary school girls sitting down at the children's section and one girl started chanting,"A is for *&$%^,B is for *(&^%&,C is for *&(&&^"...all of which were hokien vulgarities.I felt so angry I wanted to give them a piece of my mind..THIS IS A PUBLIC AREA,LEAVE YOUR VULGARITIES TO YOURSELF!:(

Reading to children is a very good exercise to develop your child's verbal skills. My mum read a lot to me as a kid and I really loved reading thereafter!! :) Heh.. when my kid comes along, intend to "throw" him into reading corner the whole day!! ha...

It really takes a lot of discipline on my part to read regularly to him...I never had people reading to me when i was a kid.Persevere on!I am looking forward to meet your little one,then we can have some book fellowship!:)

these days quite a number of young people can be just plain rude and selfish to the core, with very poor manners!!!
i just had a bad taste of some today in school... they can't be bothered that you are elder and a teacher... no respect whatsoever... give you attitude when trying to correct their anti-social behaviour... sad real sad...
but I'm glad Caleb has you for his mommy becasue I know that you will bring him up well! :)
we need more mommies like you! :)

ooh... wat nice books! i look forward to chking out the libraries in singapore when i get back home!
as for the hokkien vulgarities - i think young pp these days need to be reprimanded in public, as and when appropriate. there's jus not enough public censure for inappropriate behaviour these days. if u are thick skin enough, remember to scold them the next time u see such behaviour yea? :P

@spots: ya..i was about to,i was planning in my mind how i can make them "lose face" in public and before i opened my golden mouth,they suddenly got up and ran off!Maybe they saw a librarian coming towards them.
Yes,you must go check them out.The library i went to is quite a small one and it already has soooooooo many books for preschoolers!shelves and shelves of them!
And i discovered some children's books are quite "adult" in their storyline...like one of the moon books i got was about how the moon accompanied a boy to look for the lost spirit of his dad,who lost it when he went fishing in the storm...very abstract!:p
