Fish Soup with Papaya

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 19 May 2007 in Food & Cuisine.

I know i have been posting food pics..promise you this will be the last..at least not for next few days..:p

According to lactation specialists, parenting magazines and experienced moms, this soup is supposed to be good for lactating moms.It somehow helps the mom to produce more milk for the baby.Cooked it for myself when i was preggers with Ian on a few occasions but had no energy to do it after I had him.I 'play cheat',went to food court to buy fish soup then after that buy a piece of papaya fruit.Should be the same effect right?;)

You will need:
Four cups of water
350g fish(preferably kurau aka threadfin)
ginger sliced
Silken Toufu cubed
4 Tomato quartered
half unripe papaya(cubed)
Chinese Salted Mustard optional
Some soya sauce/fish sauce for taste

ps:i haven't found true blue unripe papaya in the normal supermarket. They are supposed to tast sour.My soup turns out sweet cos i did not get a really unripe one.I heard gotto buy from Golden Mile?Anyway,i bought the greenest i can find in the market.

Katherine is about 7 months preggers with Alison and since she was popping by today,i thought i could make some fish soup with papaya for her.Not sure if drinking before delivery has the same effect as after delivery, but i read somewhere that Zoe Tay drank lots of such soup before her baby came and she had so much milk she could use some to do facial mask...so why not?:)
