Cola Chicken Drumlets

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 10 June 2007 in Food & Cuisine.

In a desperate attempt to change fussy Caleb's fishballs-only diet,i decided to look through some of the children's recipe book i bought donkey years ago.Found this interesting recipe on Cola chicken so decided to try.Let's see if Caleb would like to try them:p

Ingredients
1 tbsp Olive oil
3 cloves Shallots(peeled and smashed)
2 slices Ginger
500g Chicken drumlets/wings if u like
1 can(600ml) Coke

Seasonings
1 and half tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp Butter
half tbsp Rosemary

Method
1.Heat up olive oil,fry shallots and giner till fragrant then add chicken drumlets. Fry well.
2.Transfer chicken drumlets into another pot,add coladrink and cook over high heat till about 70% cooked. Remove.Drain away any excess cooking liquid.
3.Add light soy sauce, butter and rosemary to the chicken wings.Arrange onto a baking tin.
4.Send the tin into a preheated oven of 160 degree celcius and bake for about 15 minutes.

For goodness sake, the whitish stuff on the chicken drums are not maggots ok![though at 1st sight they do look rather like it....:p]They are rosemary leaves!

Hmmm...this looks yummy! My pastor actually cooks "satay" by first marinating the meat in a "soda soup", i.e. Coca Cola. Makes one tasty treat...!
