Baby Food:(8-12mth) Strawberry & blueberry yoghurt

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 21 September 2007 in Food & Cuisine.

Another Australian Women's weekly recipe:)

What you need:
1 tablespoon mashed blueberry
2 tablespoon mashed strawberry
3 tablespoon plain yoghurt
(I added a bit of sugar/you can add maple syrup because it is way too sour eaten plain:))

Nice colour,Ian did not seem to cringe at the taste, but he did not eat as much as he usually does as well.:)

Nancy from Singapore

ohh...looks healthy!
Any idea where I can find plain soy-based yogurt?
My past attempts at baking biscuits didn't work out...any good recipes to share?

21 Sep 2007 5:37am

@Nancy: eh...biscuits i havent tried baking from scratch before.I go check out my recipe books and let u know,ok?As for soy based yogurts,i havent seen it before, but if i can find dairy free margarine,i should be able to find soy based yogurt! Will check it out next week during one of my supermarket excursions and let u know!

@Shutterbug: i agree!i dont really like the taste though:)

celialee from Kyoto, Japan

Yeah....I will see if I can feed it to my nephews.....

21 Sep 2007 8:10am

@celialee: sure!its got quite an 'exotic' taste, not everyone will like it,plus its a bit sour..i dont like it myself actually..but since i made so much effort,i thought, aiya what the heck just see if ian likes it..haha.if i can have my way,i'll choose over-the-counter yogurt all the time.:)

rainsocks from Singapore

Looks yummy... when can we start feeding yogurt to babies? 6 months ok?

21 Sep 2007 8:16am

@rainsocks: mmm,i dont know leh....the recipe books that i read all started yogurt around 8-9 months. So i think to be on the safer side, better to offer yogurt when jamie is ard 8 months?initially i was worried ian couldnt take it and may have diarrhoea, cos caleb has a weak stomach. but he was ok after taking this.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

The pink sweater on the bear and the pink yogurt concoction seem to be on friendly color terms. Cool shot tyan. May I call you "supermom"? ;-)

@Viewfinder: oh in billy's words,'you make me blush but carry on'...lol thanks so much for your VERY kind words! I wish i am but i know i am not,for one i dont wear my underwear on the outside, haha. But on a more serious note,i suppose i dont blog abt the burnt food, the eternally dirty house,a messy mom and her kids, the toddler making a nuisance of himself at the supermart blah blah blah. But i really appreciate your kind words, short but touched my heart greatly:)
