Ian and Sarong

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 25 September 2007 in People & Portrait.

I was sharing some days back that Ian has been very fussy these days. Something seems to be bothering him most of the time and the only time he looked happy was when i carried him. Otherwise, he was crying, whining or struggling and waking up frequently from his sleep.. I still dont really know what the true cause is but 2 days i ago the first tooth has cut through from the gums of this little toothless wonder!Perhaps teething could be the reason?

Meanwhile, when he whines,Caleb is sleeping and i needed to prepare dinner,i carry him like this in my sarong, the way ancient women carry their babies at the back while they do farming.I actually strained my back badly while carrying the kids and had to go see a therapist for it.lol.sigh.

Oh dear, pls take care of yourself. Could you put Ian somewhere else while you recover from your strained back? A rocking chair or something? Will be praying for you to get well soon. Press on and chin up! :)

Wow tyan I love this one!
I think you are right about the teething, it is very painful! Adam was awful when he was teething, he used to cry all the time, I got him a teething ring to chew on, which I used to cool in the fridge to sooth his little gums, and also I used to rub some teething gel too. I hope that little Ian feels better now his tooth has made an apperence. Take care of your back too tyan :)

Wow!! This is beautiful treatment here, babe! Love the b&w and processing, and Ian looks soooooo inquisitive here!! :-)
Really empathise about the extra-fussiness and clinginess especially around this age with all the teething and developmental milestones they’re going through. Elise was especially fussy and clingy too around this age, for quite a few months!!…got better when she started to walk and felt less frustrated about not being able to reach us when she wanted to. In the meantime, oh yes, she would be bawling in my face even when I had her in the bouncer right in front of me when I was trying to pee!! lol! :)
Do take care of your back, dear babe. I think it’s ok to set Ian down in a bouncer or swing every now and then to give yourself proper rest and break, even if he protest cries, especially when he’s still in close proximity to and in full sight of you.
You are a most wonderful mommy, you must remember to take care of yourself too, dear tyan!! :)
