Milo,Cute bread and chipolataPosted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 10 October 2007 in Food & Cuisine. This is Caleb's new craze for breakfast-milo,toasted bread and chipolata. He refuses to eat anything else for breakfast. Packed this on Monday before i brought him to see the doc.He has been coughing on and off and it really sounded sinisterly like last year, also October, when he was coughing occasionally, didnt sound serious but i brought him to see the PD and it turned out to be bronchitis. I remember that day was quite a bad day;PD prescribed him the nebulizer to remove his wheezing and he had to wear a mask where some smoke was coming out.He was so traumatized and 2 nurses and i had to pin him down while he struggled through the 5 minutes of eternity. I was pregnant with Ian and the nurses were so worried he might hurt me so they tried to do it while i sang him songs to distract him. i took leave to take him to the doc,it was the last day of school and i had to meet parents of my form class in the evening. I offered to return to work after going to doc though i had no obligation to as i already took leave. And the school actually called me up by 9am in the morning to rush back! Tell me about government being pro family. Tell me about the rights of a pregnant woman at the workplace. Anyway,it was such a bad experience i was a bit paranoid about Caleb having a relapse of bronchitis so i brought him to see doc for his cough. No wheezing, fortunately but doc warned it may come. Let's just keep our fingers crossed. I hate nebulizers. And i hate waking up early in the morning, rush like a mad woman, grab the 2 sleepy kids, walk 15 min to train station, take train, walk 20 min to clinic, reach there one hour before clinic opens hoping that i'd be first in line.[Clinic is super crowded] Caleb is still coughing quite badly, such that he even vomited his breakfast and lunch yesterday,on the floor and on the bed. Sigh. Let's just hope the medicine will help him to recover soon.

e. from Washington DC, United States:( I hope he feels better. That looks like a very yummy breakfast though. 10 Oct 2007 6:36am Bron from Canberra, AustraliaGet well soon Caleb! Sometimes I found steam helped when my kids used to cough (but we live in a colder dry place so it might be different where you are?) 10 Oct 2007 7:13am @Bron: thanks bron!Your suggestion is helpful, and i have stopped feeding him milk for now because it seems to trigger his vomitting and only porridge for his troubled stomach..:) rainsocks from SingaporeIt's so tough on mommy when the kids get sick. Hope Caleb will get well fast! Take a cab next time? If spending a little money can save your sanity, it's worth it. 10 Oct 2007 7:22am @rainsocks: i tried to babe, but even calling the night before didnt help,no cab wanted to answer the booking and the timing that i want to go--its peak hour and i never ever managed to get a cab on time,so taking public transport became so much more reliable.. Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaLol, looks like a breakfast for champs to me! I hope he gets rid of that cough soon. 10 Oct 2007 9:38am Soodabeh from Yazd, IranOh what a good mother you are!! We sometimes see pics of your delicious homemade food. Happy and healthy babies you have. Excellent. 10 Oct 2007 9:58am Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesSo sorry your little Calen is feeling sick; may I say that parenting at this stage of life is anxiety producing. May the blessings of healing be his very soon. The great thing is that when little ones start to feel better, it's often like an instant change. I'll pray with you on this... 10 Oct 2007 12:22pm Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaPoor Baby, nothing ever got my heart more twisted than when I received a call that my baby was sick. I know the feeling, the good thing is as sick as he gets is how he'll be developing all his anti-bodies later on that will make him so healthy. Mommy's with him...he'll be fine ;) 10 Oct 2007 3:01pm Amir from ?, IranReally nice of you to make something this nice for him. Hope he is recovering and back to normalcy 10 Oct 2007 3:18pm Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesThat looks yummy, i wouldn't eat anything else for breakfast either after having that. I do hope your little sweet pea gets better soon. 10 Oct 2007 8:03pm xinyi from Singaporedearie, remember dun give him chicken and cold water.. chicken will produce phlegm.. fruits also.. jus make sure he drinks plenty of hot/warm water is best.. speaking from experience.. hope caleb will recover soon.. 11 Oct 2007 1:40am Nancy from SingaporeIt's a torture for the parents as well when the kids fall ill. Look at it this way, when Caleb coughs and vomit, he's actually coughing out the phelgm which might do him good in the end. Teach him to cover his mouth when he coughs so that the germs don't get to Ian. :) 11 Oct 2007 4:49am @Nancy: hahahah!I realise, kids this age seem to be very 'habitual',they go by habits,Caleb even insist i push the pram over a certain area at the carpark every day when we go out!You think they got obsessive compulsive disorder?LOL SO your little princess' habit is breadtalk and softmeal bread! As i write this now,ian has fallen sick.Caleb covers his mouth but i guess i cant cover all areas.sigh.i am having this v bad headache now. whole morning of screaming, whining and crying. Seraphine from San Francisco, United StatesI'm sorry to hear about Caleb being sick. At least he's well fed, the breakfast breads look wonderfully delicious. 11 Oct 2007 4:58am |
