I saw this poor rabbit abandoned beside the rubbish bin at our flat on Monday morning. Unfortunately,i actually know the owner of this poor rabbit. She is our neighbour,a granny caring for it on her grand daughters' behalf. They come occasionally to stay with her and i often see the rabbit outside her unit.
When i told my husband,he said,'Dont tell me you are going to keep it'. I dont think i have anymore capacity to take care of the rabbit on top of the things i have to do but i feel so sorry for it. I took it up and put it at our level's lift landing and called the SPCA to collect it. And of course they say they reserve the right to do anything to it,which may mean it would be put to sleep.
If anyone is not ready to care for an animal, dont even think of buying it only to abandon it one day. That's just downright irresponsible.
Oh Shame Tyan - he looks so helpless and what a beautiful face he has....how can anyone not want him around!!!

I agree - it's a big responsibility! The rabbit looks clean and healthy though tyan! Surely some child would like it. I hope it gets more room to move....

Poor bunny. Even though it is healthy, there is probably very little interest in adopting rabbits; they will likely put it to sleep. Punished for the carelessness of its previous owners.

yeah! having a pet is for life, if you just abandon it, dont even buy it! lovely shot anyway :)

Totally agree with you sweet Tyan, animals small and not so small are not toys to be disposed of at whim...you have a good heart

That is terrible... then i think of all the parents who treat their kids that they don't want to take care of also. Its ok that you called the SPCA its not your fault that the rabbit was left there. Its at least a more human way to go (if that is what must happen) instead of starving to death. I think the only other thing you could possible do is go set it free in the park or woods... just a thought. Since it's prob friendly it would prob do well in a park.

It really is awful how some people think it is totally ok to just abandon their pets like that. My Dad got his cat when some people down the street up and moved and left their cat (less than 2 years old) to fend for himself. Not every abandoned animal is lucky enough that there is someone around who can care for it.
On a purely photographical note - nice framing/angle for the photo.

Poor rabbit. I totally agree with you, it's people like that who contribute to the large number of abandoned animals all over the place.
On another note, nicely taken shot.

I have a million things to say abt animal cruelty but I won't bore you here... I'm glad you called the SPCA. Unfortunately I think Singapore is a place where people do not think much abt animal rights. Rabbits, cats, dogs... it's sad.

yes, that really is sad. Thanks for being caring enough to give the rabbit a photo-shoot. In so doing you have immortalized it!

It's really a shame that Singaporeans (or people in general) are so irresponsible.
