I feel like dancin'Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 1 November 2007 in People & Portrait. I was saying that my camera's LCD CRACKED and i cannot see a preview of the pictures i take.I have to look through the viewfinder and i only know how the pictures turn out when i download them to the computer. I'll have to get it repaired and that'll take a week or two. Meanwhile i will take you on a trip down memory lane abt some of the things that happened before i became an avid p/blogger this year, after Ian's arrival. So they'll be old photos.Bear with me while i get the camera LCD fixed:) I was a school dancer in high school. Some seniors told me i had a flair for dancing and i did cheerleading and dance for the school. This is a photo taken when i was 16,we were going to put up a ballet for our graduation ceremony. I remembered feeling excited because that was the FIRST time my parents came and attended my school function. We also chereographed a dance according to 'That Thing You Do' for our class, was so fun. After graduation,i gave up dancing to serve in Youth For Christ and also then the thinking that dancing wasnt a 'christian' thing to do,dont ask me to elaborate,i was such a legalistic fool back then. Now i still love dancing, but been hard with 2 little kids around, and i am no longer as agile. But dear hub helped fulfill my lost dream of dancing by signing me up for hip hop dance at a sports centre near our place, ten sessions of recreational dancing.Makes me feel like a young girl again.:)

Rags from Plano, United Statesgood for you! I too was legalistic, but slowly my eyes have began to be opened to the fact that His grace is sufficient for me, no matter what i do. I am glad that you are back to dancing. Dancing has a way of lifting ones spirits. I also love the image. i think you are very photogenic. 1 Nov 2007 5:32am Mandy from South AfricaAwesome shot Tyan - you look great and as Rags mantioned very photogenic!!! I'm so thrilled that you're going to be doing the hip hop dance classes.......as Rags mentiond I think our eyes are too often closed - we forget that God created us for His pleasure and when we are enjoying ourselves, doing fun things like Dancing that gives God Great joy!!!! He takes us as He finds us - he doesn't need us to straighten up first - that's the beauty of His grace!!! 1 Nov 2007 7:04am e. from Washington DC, United StatesThis photo is gorgeous! You look very pretty. :) 1 Nov 2007 7:07am Shutterbug from Chennai, IndiaWhat a lovely trip down memory lane! the three of you look gorgeous with all that joy! 1 Nov 2007 7:19am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaAwesome dear girl, I love this photo, wow...and danse, danse, danse pretty lady! 1 Nov 2007 9:44am Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesTyan! What a really cute "babe" you are in this picture! I'd imagine many a young man's heart was broken over you in those years. Such a lovely smile. It's too bad Christians get hung up on stupid ideas like dancing is bad. Far as that goes, anything at all can be bad -- depending on what one does with that "anything" later on. Having fun and dancing is something I think God blesses; there are so many references to this as well as to general "joy" in Scripture, I can't imagine coming to any other intelligent conclusion. Blessings, lovely lady. 1 Nov 2007 12:03pm MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomAwww! this is lovley tyan, I'm really please to hear that you are back dancing again hun! it will do you the world of good! :) 1 Nov 2007 3:45pm Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesYeah - i love dancing toooo and have thought about signing up for a hip hop class. Just something snazzy. 1 Nov 2007 4:37pm Markus from Reading, United KingdomHi tyan, all the best + lots of fun! Nice capture! 1 Nov 2007 9:59pm nalen from Alliston, CanadaYou know what? my sister had signed up in belly dancing last year :) 1 Nov 2007 11:56pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWOW, I love this photo. In truth, you are a great beauty, dear tyan. I joke not! Seeing this photo actually reminded me of the legendary beauties of ancient China. Law is a very very blessed man!! And what is this about dancing not being a Christian thing to do? As VF rightly noted, dancing is very much in the Bible. The people of God have been known to love dancing too. This is such a wonderful gift that you have, dear babe. When done tastefully, it’s such a wonderfully expressive form of art…..and can be such a beautiful way to communicate joy and worship of our amazingly gracious God too! I am so glad Law has signed you up for recreational dance sessions. That is what I call *a very well-deserved break* and *fabulous fun* to look forward too. Bravo, dearest babe!! :) 2 Nov 2007 3:54am Rabbit from Richmond, United Statesi love to dance! - - - - Oh i miss it, maybe i should go dancing this weekend? 2 Nov 2007 3:32pm |
