Caleb at birthPosted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 4 November 2007 in People & Portrait. I was saying that my camera's LCD CRACKED and i cannot see a preview of the pictures i take.I have to look through the viewfinder and i only know how the pictures turn out when i download them to the computer. I'll have to get it repaired and that'll take a week or two. Meanwhile i will take you on a trip down memory lane abt some of the things that happened before i became an avid p/blogger this year, after Ian's arrival. So they'll be old photos.Bear with me while i get the camera LCD fixed:) I remember feeling very afraid and unsure when my labour pains started on 22nd May 2005,Sunday night. But since i had the show that morning,i thought the pains should be 'labour pains' and we took a cab to the hospital. When i was in the labour ward,i heard screams from the neighbouring ward. "Save me!","Arghh,I am in pain!" Shudders.Shucks.What did i get myself into? Now i cant get out. Then i heard insensitive barking of orders. "PUSH!PUSH HARDER!" OH NO. Then it was my turn. The midwife scolded me when i screamed. She said i was to direct the energy i used for screaming to push. She didnt even allow me to squint my face. Law tried to be helpful by parroting the midwife and i screamed at him to shut up.haha. Anyway our firstborn was out after 15 hours of labour. His name is Caleb Tang Chong Yee. Both his names meant faithfulness.

Soodabeh from Yazd, IranOh what a painful story! Congratulations to you! I didn't have such experience because of my preterm labour. My baby was born in 33rd week of pregnancy. So I had a surgery. Nice name with a good meaning. 4 Nov 2007 10:24am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaThe birth of a baby is so magical...you'd think someone could come up with a potion for that excruciating pain! ;) 4 Nov 2007 10:40am Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesThis is an exciting shot! I don't know if the Dr.s will let you take a picture of your baby like this here. They have issues about recording the birth & pictures while delivering the baby - they are probably trying to protect themselves from getting sued. Most women in America get an epidural for help with labor pains. Having a baby is so wonderful, but i can not begin to image why us ladies have to go thru SO much pain for it. I'm sorry your midwife seemed like a jurk. I think i would have fussed anyway bad energy or good energy - i for some reason under pressure LOVE to make the opposite choice that OTHERS want me to make. 4 Nov 2007 1:47pm Nancy Goh from SingaporeLooking at this shot, I can just imagine how loud Caleb's crying was...:p 4 Nov 2007 2:41pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesWow, I am sure Caleb will love it when you threaten to show his girlfriends his first photo, in years to come. 4 Nov 2007 6:11pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomPriceless. Absolutely priceless and precious, dearest babe. Such tremendous pain, yet with it such tremendous joy. Absolutely AMAZING. 4 Nov 2007 6:15pm Shrig from New Jersey, United StatesWhat an expression! I know he's crying, but still... How very brave of you :) 4 Nov 2007 11:05pm rags from Plano, United StatesThanks for sharing the story. I sometimes wonder how my futre wife will handle our first child...thats if God blesses us with one of our own. The cool thing about you childbirth is that now you get to raise a child whom you love so very much. 5 Nov 2007 2:55am |
