I'll be back baby

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 8 November 2007 in People & Portrait.

Dear friends, thank you so much for your kind words on my blog post yesterday. I was all choked up by the time i finish reading all your comments,LOL.

Just to share with you a piece of good news. 2 parents called me back after enquiring about the ad i put up on the papers and they want me to start their kids on tuition. One of them actually is going to use me only for this year end holidays,as her tutor has gone overseas,so i kind of am the 'relief' tutor. most tutors wont take on short term assignments like this but i am going to try to take on whoever call me up,and 'build up' my reputation as a tutor first,LOL. Then i have another one probable starting in December. Thank God for his providence!

Of course i also have my fair share of annoyance at some parents who talk in such a rude, cynical and top down manner as if teachers were second class citizens.Oh well. I just tell myself not to become one myself, because i dont know what my sons will become if i am like that.

I find the way my dear p/blogger friend,Rabbit name her pottery creation very interesting,so i have decided to name my 2 dishes 'I'll be back',a bit of inspiration from Arnold in Terminator.haha.

Yes,my dear Cam is back!Maybe i should my dear a cam a name too.Any suggestions?

Actually it was back last thurs, but thought i'll finish with the memory lane series. Thanks so much for your kind words!:)

I made this for dinner last thurs and took a pic(The FIRST one after being repaired!).

Jellyfish is hub's fave, very easy,i bought jellyfish, most are already packed with seasoning in the supermarket, added in mango shredded and cashew nuts.

Soya sauce chicken-i fried garlic, onion, and ginger in olive oil, added in the chicken parts, fry for abt 2 minutes, added in about half a cup of dark soya sauce, 1 and 1/2 cup water,2 teaspoon sugar, 1 cinnamon stick and 2 star anises.

Then i added in sherry wine while cooking chicken over low fire.

Enjoy!:)

I'm really pleased to hear that you have some students, wonderful news hun. I always think that people who are rude or treat others with disrespect are very sad and there lives are lacking in something!

Hummm - i must find an Asian market and get me some jellyfish (i do not think our average food store in the good ol us carries jellyfish) then i will need your brilliant mind to help me create a dish as good as yours - it looks DELICIOUS! Also thank you my dear for such sweet things said... Naming your food dishes is wonderful idea.

Mmmmmmm, this is the epitome of SCRUMPLICIOUS, my dear friend!! The jellyfish I miss so much, and will probably have to wait for our next trip back to S’pore to sample again! Must definitely try the chicken recipe. My soya sauce chicken recipe is pretty basic, have never tried it with cinnamon and star anise before! You are truly a gorgeous babe of many talents, dearest tyan!! :) So happy for you at the news of the new tuition students. Just ignore the rude parents, ok babe? They are being woefully ignorant and small-minded if they treat you this way. Not worth your energy being bothered by them! Your precious energy and attention are needed for many far more noble preoccupations already on your plate. And a truly beautiful and amazing plate you have, dearest babe!! YUMMY, again!! :) God bless always, dearest babe. :)
