Caleb and ABCsPosted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 11 November 2007 in People & Portrait. Law has gone for reservist and have to stay in camp for three and a half weeks,so for my sanity's sake{i cant do without talking to an adult 24/7,i will go insane},i shifted the kids and myself to my parents' place. I try to keep to our daily routine of learning our ABCs in the mornings. Caleb got sick of the 'Touch and say' alphabet book in the background on the right so i bought this wooden alphabet jigsaw. He seems to have got tired of the routine so i am thinking of ways to spice it up. Any suggestions?:)

e. from Washington DC, United StatesAwwww he looks very content playing with it. You should get him one of those pushcart things that rattle or play a tune when it rolls. Although it might get on your nerves. 11 Nov 2007 8:10am Lorraine from Gatineau, Canadawow, it's a beautiful, beautiful photo, what a nice feel to it! Good girl, babe ;) 11 Nov 2007 11:01am Rabbit from Richmond, United Stateshow old is he? I don't remember when i learned my ABC's however maybe you should mix it up by learning a song for a week & then go back to the ABC's I know repitition is best for learning but even as adults we tire of the same ol thing. Learning a song will help with memory as well - so its not a total loss if you step away from the ABC's besdies your abc's are a lot to remember for someone so little. another way to spice it up even for you - could be to learn the sign language that goes with the ABC's its said that children learn hand gestures before they can really speak well - because a different part of the brain has to develop for speech and that usually takes a bit longer. Mean-while you could learn American Sign Language :D 11 Nov 2007 4:28pm COOKIE from SingaporeDear tyan, 11 Nov 2007 4:54pm Ras from Plano, United StatesHow about finger painting for a little while, a little messy, but I think would be a lot of fun for all, until cleaning time came along. 11 Nov 2007 5:57pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWow, I love this.
