Caleb

Hello everyone!Sorry i have been away from my blogging desk and visiting you the past few days. Will get to that shortly.

Took some photos of Caleb carrying his own bag last week, something which didn't come naturally for him,so I was terribly happy when he finally agreed to carry his own bag.

I am happy to say that this little guy is adapting pretty well to school. But having said that,i don't think he learnt many new things in school. He already knew the things the teachers taught, well, maybe I am just being 'kiasu' here, maybe i should just chill and enjoy him enjoying himself, playing. i guess something good that came out of going to school is that he probably learnt to interact with his teachers and friends and also follow a routine and adults' instructions.

Our typical day goes something like this[I apologise if I am boring you to death, all you have to do is to click next, haha.]:

0600-0700 Mummy wakes up to prepare breakfast/Hub goes to work

0700-0800 Caleb wakes up,bathe, breakfast, wear his uniform/Mummy packs Ian in her sarong, asleep or awake and walks to busstop/We board bus

0800-0900 Caleb goes to school/Mummy takes bus back and bathe and feed Ian

0900-1000 Ian naps/Mummy does housework

1000-1100 mummy picks caleb from school

1100-1200 take the train to go for lunch(mandatory for Caleb the habitual creature) and a trip to the library

1200-1300 Library,grocery shopping

1300-1600 Home sweet home/wash up/Storytime/boys nap/mummy cooks dinner

1600-1800 mummy gives tuition on tuition days, otherwise, she brings the boys out to the playground

1800-1900 Boys bathe, dinner,Daddy finally comes home and plays with the boys

2000--Story time and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Its actually very tiring and the fatigue has been causing me to lose my appetite. There are days i hear the bubbly noise coming from the school next to our flat,i begin to miss teaching. There are days when the going gets tough and i start to tear out of nowhere, wondering if i was a fool to give up a stable and comfortable income, my passion for teaching, the interaction with colleagues and students, a nanny who apparently took good care of Caleb in exchange for extreme fatigue, loneliness and material poverty. Sometimes i think, maybe I am really an idiot who doesnt have the ability to weigh her priorities, as what my husband's parents pointed out to me for the umpteenth time.

Motherhood is a strenuous job indeed, but with God holding our hands, the trip has got to be worth taking.

And I'll probably have to learn how to juggle more than what I am doing now, when Hub goes for part-time further studies. So there is a saying that goes-'Behind every successful man is a supportive woman.' Oh well, maybe the government can give me some kind of monetary bonus(perhaps lifetime free medical fees or lifetime free transport by air or land,LOL) for supporting not one but three men!!

Really like your pictures! I believe your son is attending the kindergarten which belongs to the church I go to. I can understand what you are going through right now because it's not easy caring for such young children - am going through the same! God will see you through all these difficult years. Have Faith & take care! - Rgds, Sue

You're a wonderful mom, you are, and in your heart you know what to do...there will come a time (sooner rather than later) where you will remember that you are also God's child and therefore, have to do some things that are better for you. Take your time, leave the problem in God's hand, and wait. Inspiration can come from a book or a friend, or a conversation you overhear. Open your heart to the perfect solution for all concerned. (Maybe you can teach in a place where you can bring your child? Or maybe you can volunteer in a place where you can bring your baby...OR God knows, He does, you know) Do not bury your dreams, you are as deserving as the family you love so dearly.
Having said that, isn't he as cute as a button ;)
ps I suppose driving is not an option?

Ah yes that good old internal battle that every woman goes through. Having to choose between working and staying home is like having to choose between your brain and your heart! I just went back to work after being at home for 6 months. I loved staying home but you are right you get lonely for adult time, you start to miss working (as crazy as that sounds). I had an opportunity come my way that I could not pass up, my family has been very supportive and I love my job but now I miss being at home with the kids and volunteering at their school. It is such a twisted love/hate thing, all I know is your passion is what makes you YOU. Sometimes giving up your passion turns into resentment later in life. Everything will work out, listen to your heart!!!

Whew - what day, i think i'm wore out just reading the schedule. Remember regret the things you havent done - not the things you have done. You have taught & i'm sure once the little ones are in school doing their thing you can go back to teaching. Enjoy them while they are little - they don't stay that way long, i believe IN YOU - that you made a WONDERFUL choice! Go MOM GO!
