Yo,Bro!

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 29 January 2008 in People & Portrait.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your kind encouragement and wishes for my previous post.

It has become more difficult than ever to blog everyday because there is less than enough of me to go around the daily chores, sending Caleb to school and back, making sure Ian doesnt do the 'superman' stunt now that he is trying to walk faster than his little feet can take him, housework, cooking, working part time, and the list goes on.I suspect I may not be able to blog on a daily basis but I will continue to post and visit you whenever i can.Thank you for your friendship and encouragement, some have come and gone, but i always will treasure your friendship and the much needed listening ear and support in some of my darkest days.

I think Caleb caught the flu bug from school and have been coughing, yesterday it became more serious and he coughed as if his lungs were covered with phlegm. He actually ran a temperature of 38.5 deg c.I have been shuttling about a lot since Caleb started school and i suppose the fatigue is getting to me a bit.Hub tells me to just put him on the school bus but i cannot bear to see him packed with the other kids like sardine in the crammed bus and imagine him looking forlornly out of the window,as i sometimes see some kids on school bus doing that.Anyway,i am beginning to suspect maybe i am still suffering from post natal blues and thought i better snap out of it quick. So i decided to take a snapshot of the boys while we were camping outside the clinic,in an attempt to get meself out of feeling lousy.Ian suddenly did one of his antics and i caught it on camera.Ah,i better take more pictures of these unreserved and candid moments before they become so jaded and fake from all the social conditioning later in life.

Hmm.... I was just thinking to myself yesterday that Caleb has been quite immune to the germs at school.... hope the little fella is getting better already.

@Uncle Heng: i have been feeding him kiddy vitamin C religiously everyday, and perhaps a bit "OCD"(Obsessive compulsive disorder) and making him wash hands when i see him touch 'unidentified' objects or when i see sick kids going near him..but i suppose i dont have the ability to keep him in a sterile environment all the time unless he becomes the Bubble Boy.I think he is still quite sick.Fever on off and super runny nose.I feel like steaming our whole house to get rid of the germs.

Hi Tyan, Thanks for visiting my site again. Nice pic you have got there. I know it's really tough when the kids are sick and you can't help but worry yourself sick over them too. Believe me, I am going through the same phase and its usually virus x 3 kids! I draw my strength from your experiences and tell myself that if you can do it, I can do it too. Like you, I also let it out in my blog so that I'll feel better after that.

Yes, Aaron and Nat are a mere 13.5 mths apart and I am struggling alone most of the time. I get jittery st times, but trying to hang in there. Take good care of Caleb. Trust me, this is all part of the pre-school phase and it will pass. Slowly maybe, but surely! Take care dear.

Hey Ty!! What a great capture of your two little sweethearts! Hang in there my friend. Once you get yourself into a routine you will feel less harassed and life will seem to settle a bit. things always seem far more crazy at the beginning of the school year. Now that Ethan is in the 1st grade he has been getting homework everyday - even on his first day of school!! We now have a homework book that lists all the tasks I need to get him to do each day after school and it is going to take a week or two for us to get settled and get it all into a working schedule, but I have faith that we will not sink under the pressure and we will carry on and the school year will be a success! God is with us through it all sweet Ty and He will help us to cope! And just remember and draw encouragement from the fact that you're not alone and somewhere in the world there's another mommy feeling exactly the way you are right now! :)

Ah they are so sweet...Tyan! hang in there ;)
ps, I always drove my son to babysitters, daycare...etc, at one point thought when he started graded1, the bus would pick him up after I drove him to the daycare, and bring him back there after. I worked long days...I was absolutely stunned, when I found out that my son loved taking the bus...and asked me why he couldn't have taken the bus before...lol only goes to show!

Awww! Tyan, your little ones remind me when my boys were younger. When they first went to school, they got all sorts of colds, coughs, fevers etc, but gradually they built up an immunity to them, I was just the same, now it is very rare that any of us have to visit the doctor (thank God)
When the boy's were little I used to Childmind so I had my two + another little boy (who was a real handful!) I don't know how I managed to do everything, but by the grace of God I got through it, now the boy's are older, Adam is nearly 23 and Josh nearly 19, I sometimes wonder where the years have gone. Hang on in there Tyan :) I hope Caleb is well soon.

see you later...Unclebilly...

Post and comment when you can tyan. I'm on a roll lately at my site, but these are still random times for me. There may be periods to come when I might have to disappear for a while as I had been expecting back in Nov/Dec timeframe. If you need to take care of your boys, your Hub (and tyan too), then those things must come first. Your friends will be cheering you on, and likely will be here when you return.

Hey! Take care, okie?
Robyn was down with fever (on-off) last week...started with running nose and cough. Turned out that she's got ear infection cos of the backflow of the mucus. So, keep an eye on Caleb.
Falling sick is part and parcel of entering a new environment. Robyn was like that when she first entered childcare..but at the current centre, she seems stronger. Maybe the happiness of being there boost her immune system. :) I'm sure it'll be the same for Caleb!

Gal u are doing very well as a mom. Now even with 1 small one at home I am getting super tired with the night wakings coz I somehow still rigidly sticking to trying to tbf. Can't imagine if K is at home with me as well. She seriously wants attention too. Keep it up. Really if ur hb is so supportive and can spend the money, why not let caleb take the school bus. Give yourself some break too.
