MonkeysPosted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 3 April 2008 in People & Portrait. I brought 2 untamed monkeys to the library, bad mistake.Bad mistake.
On a lighter note,i took this snapshot about a week ago,and my monkeys were jumping up and down the seats at the Bishan Library, which i am totally in love with, much to my embarrassment. But i realise mothers with young kids probably need to: either 1)have VERY thick skin 2) be deaf 3)live on an island in order to keep their sanity intact and survive careless and insensitive remarks/people. I am currently working on 1). I always put my finger to my lips and say 'shhh' to the boys when they make too much noise. Ian has learnt to put his finger to his lips too whenever i say 'shhh'. Initially,he had put pointed his fingers to his eyes or nostrils when i say shh but after a few practices,he has managed to aim at his mouth instead. He seemed to have caught on things faster than his brother, such as being able to point out to the tiger among many other animals in the book when i say tiger and he can even say 'tiger'. He also can Its fun to see how many things he is picking up,so quickly. But of course he also goes around hugging big porcelain vases, running down(actually doing the flying fox thing,to be more accurate) flight of stairs(well, attempted to),and some other dangerous things which he shouldnt be experimenting with.Sigh.Did i say i am suffering from extreme exhaustion?!

I enjoyed the write-up and photo! And I totally agree about having to be very thick-skinned. At least for a long, long time. My son is going through a very difficult phase - tantrums, lying on the ground (gosh!), crying.....I wonder what's making him so upset recently. Just have to bite my teeth and pray that this phase will pass........... take care buddy! 3 Apr 2008 10:48am MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomOh Tyan, the joy's and pains of motherhood captured in one shot. 3 Apr 2008 11:31am Nishana Minhaz from Calicut, Indiahee hee..that's such a fun photo! lots of energy there.. i get reminded of my brother wen he was a kid. hope u aint tiring yourself too much.. 3 Apr 2008 12:57pm rainsocks from Singapore, SingaporeOMG! haha... must be tough with 2 boys! btw I love Bishan LIbrary for kids too!
