Hand Wipes

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 11 April 2008 in Miscellaneous.

I know this image is quite boring.I couldn't think of a better way to make it look more interesting. But anyway this is what i have been carrying with me ever since i fell sick and the red alert for alarming HFMD(Hand Foot and Mouth Disease) was raised.Hub insisted that i do not bring Caleb to school this week so i could stay at home to 'rest' but i wasn't sure if i'd have the chance with the 2 boys around. But later i decided to stay home after my fever returned-the very hot sun when i fetch caleb, then the cold wind from the train, then the hot sun again when i bring them for tuition, then the cold in the mall where we have lunch...-plus after hearing from news about HFMD spreading like wildfire,i decided to keep the boys at home.

I use these wipes with the boys every time we go from one place to another. After he touched the train bars, after he press the lift, after he touched the escalator handle, before and after they eat, after they touhed the library books, the playground...am i having OCD?!

hahaha - I wouldn't say you're OCD I think you're just being careful. You don't want to play around with HFMD!

Yes, we've got to take care of our kids. Hope you are feeling better now :) It has been really tough on you, to care for the boys and run everything on your own. I salute you! Pray that God will continually give you strength and for the boys to be safe from the dreaded HFMD. Do take care ok :)

@xinyi: haha which is near to impossible. That 2nd one is so active and reckless i am so tired just chasing after him.Just the other day,he simply got out of his bath tub halfway through his shower, walked out, into the kitchen and into the living room, wet, naked and laughing away.I was getting some soap and turned back to find empty bath tub and hear wet footsteps in the hall!Gosh.Caleb has NEVER EVER done that!I think i am going to lose more weight.hahaha.I am now at about the weight when i was in JC.Is that cool or what!Just the other day, when i went to cut my hair, the hsir stylist asked whether i was still studying,HAHAHA!

no... your are not OCD... HFMD does not sound like anything i would want my kids to get... so trying to prevent it sounds like a great idea.

Wow...think u would have used like 1 pack a day? I m a cheapskate - I just use tollyjoy for my older gal. think they cost abt half the price of pigeon hand n mouth wipes. :p hmm...dettol should consider coming up with wipes to kill germs. *lol* u sounded v worried abt HFMD - got a case in Caleb's sch?

11 Apr 2008 4:05pm

@bwee: ya got a case in Caleb's school, that got me paranoid..haha.After i received the newsletter informing us of it,i havent been bringing caleb to school regularly..on top of me being sick.Actually i dont know how much those wipes and dettol hand sanitizer helps because HFMD is a virus right? The wipes kill bacteria, which i think is wrong target?Dont know, lol, but i suppose for a peace of mind,i will do anything.I am so scared Caleb will get it,cos if he does, mean Ian will likely get it,and i will really go mad.So i have been using that wet wipes like there is no tomorrow.haha.

It's really terrible when the kids get HFMD. Robyn got it during the last peak season. No joke, she was so cranky then. And she only had like ulcers in her mouth and slight fever. Can't imagine if there were blisters too!

12 Apr 2008 5:13am

@Nancy: ya and now that you have 2,all the more you wont want HFMD to visit cos it means nightmare multiplied by 2!!That is really the reason why i am so paranoid..haha

Oh No! that's awful...poor you, geeze when it rains it pours...LIke you didn't already have enough on you slender shoulder....no more losing weight by the way. What you need, is a friend (who's healthy) and loving and who will come and stay over for a week so that you truly rest...I'm sending health vibes and hugs :)
