We went to the zoo on Thursday, which was a public holiday,Labour Day.The zoo was very crowded,it felt as if half of Singapore was there that day.
Caleb was so excited about going to zoo he couldnt sleep the whole night. He woke up at 2am when his daddy was watching the exciting match between Chelsea and Liverpool and talked about all the animals in zoo.
Some lovely orchids for your enjoyment. It is funny but the next few posts that i took at the zoo will be anything but animals,at least most are not.
****************************************************************** I have posted a few pictures for the next few days, but probably still on auto-pilot mode. Thanks for visiting and I will drop by whenever i can.It feels especially tiring nowadays, perhaps I used up all my adrenaline taking care of the kids and the household and my part time work. I used to make blogging a daily affair, as a form of recreation and outlet of frustrations. But i have given up blogging regularly. I guess it is also on top of the fact that I have somewhat developed an aversion to all things techy and 'cyberspatial'. While I have made many nice and sincere friends over the cyberspace, and been the grateful recipient of warm and kind words of encouragement from friends, family and even people i have never met who read my blog,i also have my fair share of transcient and many often insincere 'friendships' in the process. I probably took these so-called 'friendships' too seriously and it took a few hard knocks to realise that genuine friendships are rare and far between,if it even exists beyond that computer screen. There is just too much judgement made even before a 'fair trial'.A genuine extension of friendship becomes an insincere withdrawal without notice, perhaps it was never real to begin with.Anyway,we are talking about cyberspace. The virtual world. So i guess i am taking some kind of break, at least not as keen as before. But of course it is not that I will stop completely because there are still personal friends and family who really are interested in our lives and read this blog to find out how we are, which i really appreciate. So for these people i will continue to share about our lives.

Hope you're feeling better. I'm still not bringing the kids to crowded places for fear of HFMD. The zoo will just have to wait for at least 1 more week. :p

Ty, you are wise beyond your years! I know full well, the "hard knocks" of which you speak. It's true that life gets in the way, or better said, takes a higher priority than some 'empty' friendships. Know for one, that I think your family is your #1 priority as do you. Let the other 'stuff' take a back seat - it will still be there if you want it.
This is a poem my grandmother told me when our children were young:
CLEANING AND SCRUBBING CAN WAIT TILL TOMORROW, FOR BABIES GROW UP WE'VE LEARNED TO OUR SORROW. SO QUIET DOWN COBWEBS DUST GO TO SLEEP I'M ROCKING MY BABY AND BABIES DON'T KEEP.
Be good to yourself!!!

This is a wonderful shot Ty...what striking colours!!! I have developed a keen interest in orchids lately and would love to buy one and see if I can grow it but I am still somewhat afraid that I'd kill it!! hahaha.
Stay positive my friend and I sincerely hope that your break from blogging will revitalise and refresh you. I look forward to see what else you have for us from the zoo! :)

Tyan this is a beautiful orchid photo. We have one potted orchid that is about 4 years old and is blooming for us again right now. But it is not nearly so elegant or beautiful as this exotic one.
Read your longer commentary about blogging, techie stuff and cyberspace friends and pretenders. Your stepping back from heavy daily involvement sounds like wisdom. I grow tired of this myself at times, and would like to take a break from it all, but then I get "withdrawal" symptoms and can't quite make the break completely. I did this once on a regular blog (not a photo blog), and finally killed it completely. I deleted it. Once it was completely gone, I was surprised by how much more "real" time I had for family and other pursuits. I think in an ideal world, there ought to be a coffee shop or some kind of club room where Am3 friends and contacts could really meet in person, to talk, laugh, and become fully 3 dimensional real-time friends. But the world is a big place and, we just don't all live in the same places... I hope you will not disappear from Am3, but I do respect and understand your feelings on the matter.

Hey! I was at the zoo on labour day too! but we reached in the late afternoon so it wasnt as crowded. I agree with u that blogging does takes q a fair bit of our precious time n energy away fr our family. I find it hard to squeeze time to blog regularly too. other times, just dun feel like writing. heehee. anyway, pls dun feel bad that u cant blog as often cos u r nt accountable to anyone! n dun feel obliged to write esp when u r busy. we all r mothers so we can understand! but wld love to continue to read abt u n yr family. checking out yr blog is becoming like a habit for me now actually. lol. take care!!! :)
