Introducing...Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 22 June 2008 in Food & Cuisine. You know there are days when you dont feel like cooking but you have to,and you look at the fridge and most of the food's use-by-date is today or tomorrow? So you take them out and wish you can just dump everything into a big pot and pray that they will taste good and not cause diarrhoea? Anyway,i suddenly had a bright idea today to help me make the chore a more pleasant one,i decided to give my dishes names! First up,on the left in the background is 'Farm Delight',comprising of organic French beans, diced fishballs, minced beef and egg. In the centre is 'Pheonix Rejuvenates in Teriyaki Spa',chicken marinated in garlic, onion, teriyaki sauce, wine, soya sauce and baked in oven. On the right we have 'Wilbur and his Rainbow Friends'.Wilbur as in that cute little pig in Charlotte's Web,pork with carrot, tomatoes, potatoes, corn and dried scallop. How's that?I get some kick out of laughing over the silly names and not feel so moody anymore. More to come! One of these days I'll publish a recipe book called Tyan and her silly dishes!Any sponsors?

I think a cookbook for leftovers renamed (and rewarmed) could find a pretty good niche market. You've got a great idea, and with photos, it could become a winner! 22 Jun 2008 6:12pm Tse Min from Melbourne, Australiait does not sound silly, it sounds brilliant!!! surely it will stir up the interest in the kids to eat the food! it looks so yummy i want to eat it!!!!! yummmmyyyyy.... 22 Jun 2008 10:39pm Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesI had a similar situation tonight ... used up the fresh corn by roasting it, made cole slaw with the cabbage and backed the chicken.
