On days i do not have to teach,I feel very happy and light hearted.I guess this is how all of you will feel when you don't have to work? For me,it is because i do not have to rush to feed the kids and put them to sleep so that i can teach in peace. More importantly,i can spend the whole afternoon just playing and interacting with the boys.
Ian can communicate with us through hand signs,nods and simple words. He seem to have a greater repertoire of vocab compared to his brother at one plus years!
Caleb has been imitating our mannerisms, and sometimes he is just like a little adult. When he sees that I am huffing and panting pushing the stroller, he will ask,'Mummy are you okay?Tired?'If i told him i was tired, he will be very cooperative and even helps me with Ian.And of course Caleb my 'protector' has taken to 'standing up' for me when he thinks Ian is 'bullying' me, such as bawling and his 'no-shadow kicks',which of course sometimes land on my face or body.
A few days ago,while i was teaching, Caleb came into the room after his nap, a little dazed. Then after a while,he walked out of the door,looking slightly hurt,telling me,
'Mummy,i am going out to eat rice.'
I thought perhaps he was upset i didnt give him my full attention.
'Let mummy accompany you out'
'No,mummy,you go and work'
He closed the door!
Immediately i felt very bad that i was working and not spending all my time with him. But i guess there is no best of both worlds.No work,no mola($$$)!

What a sweet young gentleman Caleb is. Like I said there is no perfect solution to the problems we face, but since we have chosen this path, finish the walk with faith. The best thing we can do for our kids, is to do our best for them always. Let the past not dictate the beautiful present and future God has for you. Your 3 men will be your source of comfort and support. I know that God is also leading you through, the way He is with me :)

How cute!!!!!!! Caleb's really thoughtful! Makes me think back to my own childhood... Have I been a good child to my mum? hmm...

What a little angel Caleb is, he is growing up to be thoughtful and helpful to his mummy, bless him and it is thanks to you Tyan. I used to childmind and I saw the effect it had on one little 2 yr old boy, he had everything he wanted, in toy's, fine clothes etc, but he didn't have the thing that he desired most, (you could see it in his eyes, when his mother dropped him off at my house, in the mornings) his mother with him, to be there to comfort him when he was ill, to play with him and help him learn. It was very sad for both him and his mother.
She didn't, have to work full time but she loved working, and commented to me once, "I couldn't stop at home it's too boring, I think L is much better off with me working. He can have everything he wants and if I was at home he couldnt" She didn't even think that it went deeper than material possesions, and had no idea of how to look after his emotional needs and compensated by buying him everything.( I know that some mothers have to work and have no choice, it's necessary for them to live)
I often wonder how he is (he's 19 now) how he has grown up and what sort of person he became. Caleb and Ian, are rich beyond their wildest dreams having a mummy who stay's with them to nurture and love them as they grow, God bless you Tyan.

@cookie: Maybe he knows thats all i can manage...will go berserk if they are any wilder.I havent told you his idiosyncracies yet.Ian nearly drove me mad this morning.

Tell me leh... i always have this very good impression of Caleb. I told my mom n hubby how Caleb has been treating u, they were like "wow!" If FY can have the sense of speak like that, tears will really come to my eyes leh!!!!! FY is too naughty and active, very hard to fathom he has any idea of being thoughtful.

@cookie: To be very honest,i think Caleb is imitating me more than anything else.I am not so sure if he really knows what he is saying.For eg,i always say 小心车when we cross the road,and after a while,he starts saying it too whenever we cross the road or walk along the carpark.Then when hub parks the car,i will watch out for him and tell him 'clear'.After a while,Caleb,and now even Ian,says 'clear' when my hub drives.haha,so as you can see,they may not know what they are talking about. But i guess they can start from imitation!:)
