Garden and Creepy Crawlies Week: Master Mantis

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 8 July 2008 in Animal & Insect.

Caleb's school theme for the week is creepy crawlies and he is supposed to bring a live creepy crawlie to school for a show-and-tell session. We decided to try our luck at the Botanical Gardens. I was hoping we can find a ladybird. It is pretty and easy to talk about for a 3-year-old. No luck. If only we can bring Master Mantis for show-and-tell!

Hub caught a bug which we didnt know what it was until we googled about it. Still not very sure but it should be the assassin bug-very painful sting, not sure if you will die from it:)

Cute theme for the little ones - sorry you couldn't find a ladybird, though. ;p

Nice story, but I would stay clear of anything with assassin in its name.
