Langkawi Getaway(7):Appreciating the small things

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 19 December 2008 in Animal & Insect.

Husband has been away for work overseas for almost a week now. I thought I was going to freak out coping alone 24/7,but somehow when you have to do it,you just do it. I brought the boys out for excursions,as I usually do,cook their meals, tell them stories, give tuition when they take their nap[this part very stressful because precision in timing is required],bring them to the playground, plan activities with them, do housechores after they sleep. Sometimes the coping alone, Caleb's repetitive sentences and questions, Ian's whining jar on my nerves and I cannot hand it over to someone else to 'stand in' for a while but I guess the experience has helped me to appreciate the little things in life, like Husband's presence which i sometimes take for granted.

There are some things that one yearns for, because he doesnt have them; while others take for granted because they have in abundance.

There are some things which you wish you didnt have to go through, because you go through them everyday; while the others stand at the side and say you are at the greener side of the pasture when they don't even know what they are talking about.

But there is one thing beautiful about going through difficult times, you start to notice and appreciate the small and its beauty.

You have certainly become stronger. You have come so far and Ian is going to turn 2 soon. How fast time flies. Made any plans for Caleb's primary education?

I agree with Nancy, your inner strength is showing ... even as you struggle, Tyan.
Keep appreciating those little things as you can; the appreciation multiplies!!!

CONGRATULATIONS today, on joining the 'big boys' with 500 photos posted!
Hugs, Judy
