Density

We did an experiment together on our Science day,on density. The egg at first sinks because it has a greater density than water,then heap 4 tablespoons of salt,thus causing water density to be greater,so the egg floats.

I learned this as a young child, but not by using salt in a glass. ... I learned to swim in the ocean and when I saw someone holding their mother in the water, I wanted to do it also. Here I was, a skinny little thing; how was I going to hold my mother's weight? Well of course in the salt water it was a cinch! :D
