Holding handsPosted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 27 August 2009 in People & Portrait. One of my earnest hopes for my boys is that they will share a very close relationship. One thing I do to make it happen is never to promote sibling rivalry between the 2 boys. But I guess sometimes it is hard not to notice the differences between the two, which I keep in my heart of course. Once, the 2 boys each had a balloon. Caleb was playing with his, while Ian's was deflated. So the younger brother was chasing the older one around the house demanding for a balloon. So I tried to inflate Ian's balloon and in the process burst it in my hands. As i frowned in pain, Ian's first response was,'Where is my balloon?' Caleb on the other hand, kissed me and then gave his balloon to Ian! It is so amazing and I was really touched by Caleb's gesture. You think its a phase? As in, Ian will learn to share and care as he grows older? I hope so, and no, the incident didnt make me love Ian any less.

Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United StatesThis is a sweet image to go with your text, Tyan. You've shared before, of Caleb's generosity with Ian, and here it is again. I think it may be more difficult to teach the younger sibling to share because the older one is always steps ahead in maturation. However, some of that comes from going off with other children, as Caleb does. Your gentle nature will rub off of Ian also! xx 27 Aug 2009 10:26am Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesNice image; a special memory. The photo and the story.
