Brown and furry
Caterpillar in a hurry
Take your walk to the shady leaf or stalk
May no toad spy you
May the little birds pass by you
Spin and die
To live again a butterfly

We have been spending a lot of time at home these days because Caleb was down with bad cough and a little wheezing for the whole of last week so I took him out from school. So we read another of Eriç Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar and did a mobile of the life cycle of a caterpillar,a maze, and used pompoms to make a caterpillar. We also made a chart and learnt the days of the week from the book.

Then the sick bug was passed to Ian, who woke me up early this morning at 5am, a little delirious and insisted that he was a pig. He even oinked. Scary right?

I took his temperature,40 degree celcius. Gave him a bath and sponged him and he started coughing in a way i never heard before. It sounded like the bark of a seal. So we brought him to the PD and realised there is a name for this-CROUP. I thought I was already an expert in child ailments but looks like there are always new things to learn. We are praying that he will get better by Wednesday or else he will need to return to the Doc and may need to be hospitalised. Sigh.

So sorry to hear about Ian's croup. Ah, the perils of parenthood - worrying about our children when they are sick. The good thing is that God made most children to be pretty resilient. We parents have to work at it a little more, I think.

Sorry to hear the bug has bitten but Ian will tough it out for sure. Another thoroughly enjoyable montage here, Tyan.
