DIY toys: Hungry PupPosted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 25 October 2009 in People & Portrait. I started making toys using recycled materials recently, after I got a book from Borders,'Making toys for preschoolers'. It is quite time consuming but very little or no costs involved. And very satisfying when the kids can play with them for a long time. The boys and I make the toys together and had fun playing with them. I drew a dog face on a shoe box, cut out the mouth using craft knife, and cut out varied colours of 'bones' for the boys to feed the hungry pup. I have number cards for them to look at, and they follow the instructions to put the number and colour of bones accordingly.
