Rainbow Crab

Posted by tyan (Singapore, Singapore) on 30 December 2009 in Animal & Insect.

We saw these rainbow crabs from the fish farm where the boys and I did longkang fishing yesterday.Their colours looked like they were dished out of the wok before they were fully cooked.

Excellent! These are interesting creatures. Are they land crabs? This one sort of resembles what we call fiddler crabs around these parts, but they are small. Yours looks to be quite a bit larger.

This little Mr. Krabs looks, like he'd think: "Come nearer and I'll smack you!" Very nice capture with amazing colours and detail, make me think of the krusty krab :-) Very well done!

There seems to be a good amount of meat in those crab legs ... are they good eating?
I like your shot, Tyan.

i don't know why crabs have that look on their faces, like they are mad at you for pulling them from the sea. but i think they are born with those faces. i have never seen a happy crab, though i'm sure they exist. i wonder if a crab ecver smiles?
